Wedding Hair

I'm still feeling this wedding hairstyle...

Bantu Knots and Pin-Ups

Hey guys! Last night I felt ambitious and decided to give Curlformers a try.

EPIC HAIR FAIL!!!!

I will have to post my video from that disaster another time. As a result of the hot mess that were Curlformers, I decided to give Bantu Knots a long overdue try and I must say, they came out pretty great. My hair was still a little damp that morning when I took them down but the definition was excellent. I didn't do anything special to my hair other than dampen it with water, applied a little whipped shea butter and twisted it up. My hair was well detangled two days prior so I didn't need to do a complete wash. Here are a few pictures:

I have received tons of compliments on this style and plan to wear it for a while. This is definitely getting adding to the list of possible wedding 'dos.

Wedding Stuff: Hair

Special thanks to Val, one of my Twitter buddies, who found a great interview on Black Girl Long Hair that featured Polliany showcasing her natural hair on her wedding day. I've been spending a lot of time researching natural hairstyles to wear for my wedding day and this ranking in the top 5.

Polliany's hair looks absolutely perfect and is a reflection of her personality. I love it! I think I will test out this style in the coming months.

CurlFormers and Wedding Hair

Hey guys! First, let me say 'thank you' to all those who have provided suggestions and ideas about how to style my hair for my wedding in June. You guys rock! You have been such a big help. I love the idea of wearing some of my hair up so that's definitely the direction I plan to go.

My dear Gillian sent me a video by My Natural Sistas with a style accomplished using Curlformers. I haven't played around with these before but I've always been curious about them. After seeing the completed hairstyle, I was sold on purchasing a kit and plan to pick it up tonight (tutorial video coming soon!).

Isn't her hair absolutely adorable? With a style like this, I just might consider wearing that tiara my mom keeps trying to convince me that I need. I can't wait to test this out and see how it comes out. I'll admit that the curlformers are a little pricey but I'm purchasing a kit so I won't have to piece it together. Curlformers are available for purchase at your local Sally's Beauty Supply store or online at www.curlformers.com

Natural Wedding Hair

I have been toying around with ideas for my hair on my wedding day. My dress is strapless so I'm open to wearing my hair up or down. Its important to me that I do not straighten my hair for my wedding. I want to showcase my natural curls on my special day. Here are a few of the styles that I'm toying with. Any suggestions or recommendations on styles for my special day?
