Conditioner: The Great Debate

8:53:00 PM 1 Comments A+ a-

While scrolling through the internet for the latest and greatest about natural hair, I stumbled across a short excerpt about conditioner (I wish I had bookmarked the page). One commenter stated that she always completely rinses her's out, and that if too much is left on the hair it can cause build-up. Another person stated that she believes in rinsing 60% of it out and leaving some in as a means of adding moisture to the hair, much like leave-in conditioner. The rest of the comments were split between the two options I just stated; someone left it in, others rinsed completed.

Interestingly enough, this isn't the first conditioner debate I've stumbled across. Personally, I like to rinse mine completely out and apply other products for moisture but that's just me. I do realize that all hair is different and that leaving some in may work for others. I can't help but wonder what is "the right way" to handle conditioner? The bottle states to rinse it out, but we Curlies know that conditioner can be used for everything when it comes to our hair.

What type of conditioner do you use and do you completely rinse it, or leave some in?

I have conditioner that I wash out in the shower but I also NEVER style my hair without putting a conditioner in first as a leavin.. And the type of conditioner varies based on how I'm feeling that day.
